The Benefits of Monthly Giving

For nonprofits, monthly gifts provide a sustainable, predictable base of support to help with long-term planning. For donors, recurring gifts spread the impact of the gift over the course of the year, making the commitment more manageable.

At Mommies In Need, we recently established our monthly giving program as a club, and membership has its perks! Our priority is to make this club engaging, rewarding and impactful. Some of us are Mommies In Need employees as well as supporters, so we wear two hats in the Helping Hands Club, and I have found that this provides valuable perspective. Some of us are local to the Dallas area while others enjoy a long-distance relationship with Mommies In Need that maximizes involvement and deepens communication.

As of now, Mommies In Need has 23 members of its Helping Hands Club, who collectively bring in over $10,000 per year, demonstrating how even a small amount per month really adds up.

Here is what one Helping Hands Club member had to say:

“You don’t have to remember to make a donation or worry about missing a fundraiser. Just set it and forget it. It cuts your contribution down to more affordable amounts, lines up your income with your financial commitment, and simplifies your life as a supporter.”

Here is what I can tell you from my own perspective:

“Monthly gifts help us plan ahead, knowing we can rely on a steady income stream regardless of campaign timing, status of donor outreach, or events happening or not (especially during Covid). Most importantly, it deepens our relationship with our monthly supporters because communication is more consistent and tends to flow both ways.”

-Debbie Jordan (Community Engagement Specialist)

For our Helping Hands Club members we plan to meet a couple times per year to nurture those relationships, involve them in our plans, and show them firsthand how their support is making a meaningful difference in the lives of families needing childcare in order to attend a medical appointment.

For anyone interested in translating passion for a cause into feeling like an integral part of a solution to a problem, I cannot recommend highly enough becoming a monthly donor. If you choose Mommies In Need as the recipient of your monthly support, then I look forward to welcoming you into the Helping Hands family and involving you in a world of examples that will demonstrate the kind of need you never even realized existed while filling your heart with empathy and gratitude for the kind of good that can come from your contribution. I have been exposed to shocking stories of adversity, but the outpouring of love I have seen come from our supporters is beyond gratifying. I look forward to sharing some of these stories. Believe me when I tell you that you will appreciate and thoroughly enjoy being part of it.
